ADEX 2014 painting by marine life artist Wyland goes on sale
The massive, dramatic seascape that was painted live at ADEX Singapore 2014 by Wyland, is going on sale. With a ticket price of USD1,000,000 this is the work of arguably the most famous marine artist in the world, and a piece of diving history.
Wyland’s legendary public artworks, award-winning art galleries, and community service initiatives have led to him being considered one of the most influential artists of the 21st Century.
Wyland is world-famous for his huge murals, and his passion for raising awareness about marine conservation. His work extends to sculpture and photography, and he has hosted a number of television programmes, including the series Wylands Ocean World broadcast on the Discovery Channel. Wyland has worked with global institutions like the United Nations Environment Program and companies such as Walt Disney Studios, all in his tireless mission to use art to encourage people to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
In 1993 Wyland set up the non-profit Wyland Foundation, in partnership with the United States Forest Service and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
With 25 percent of the proceeds from this painting going to the Wyland Foundation, and 25 percent going to the non-profit Asian Geographic Society, the sale of this painting is about much more than a remarkable and unique piece of art – it is another vital part of the on going fight to save the world’s precious oceans.
