Driven by curiosity about what might lie within the confines of a wreck or a cave, or what hitherto undiscovered life forms lurk in the deeper ocean trenches? The TekDive Conference at Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) 2016 showcases some of the world’s most intriguing and technically challenging dives. As every year, the lineup of tek dive speakers includes some of the most accomplished tek divers in Asia and around the globe!
ADEX 2016 TekDive Conference will be moderated by David Strike, who is the recipient of the ADEX ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for Contributions to Technical Diving, a Fellow of the Explorers Club of New York, and co-organiser of the biennial OZTek Technical Diving Conference.
The TekDive Conference will be held on April 16 – 17, 2016 in Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 312.

Speakers
Alex Santos (Philippines)
A passionate cave explorer, Alex Santos has trained and certified numerous cave divers. He is a member of the Filipino Cave Divers (FCD), a group of selected individuals with various talents and specialties aimed at the scientific exploration and study of underwater caves in the Philippines, with a mandate from the government.
Ben Reymenants (Thailand)
Ben has logged over 6,000 technical dives, with 2,000 of those being technical cave dives, and holds the record for the deepest cave dive in Thailand, at 240 metres, in the Sra Keow system. He founded Blue Label Diving, which has become the premier technical cave training (open circuit and rebreather cave) facility in Thailand.
David Strike (Australia)
With a strong background in military, commercial, recreational and technical diving, David Strike authored several hundred articles about diving, is the recipient of the ADEX ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for contributions to Technical Diving, a Fellow of the Explorers Club of New York, and co-organiser of the biennial OZTeK Technical Diving Conference.
Dharshana Jayawardena (Sri Lanka)
Asian Diver Field Editor for South Asia, Dharshana Jayawardena, is a leading deep shipwreck explorer seeking to identify many of the mystery shipwrecks that lie around the coast of Sri Lanka. One of his accomplishments was to prove the identity of the deep ship SS Worcestershire by singlehandedly finding its bell.
Edd Stockdale (Australia)
Edd works as a full-time professional diver teaching technical courses around the globe and joining research expeditions. With more than 4500 dives and 20 years diving, he is an instructor trainer with RAID and TDI along with a writer for training agency courses.
Gideon Liew (Singapore)
Gideon Liew has been diving since 1984 and is passionate about scuba diving. His love of the sport drove him to seek out a career in the diving industry in 1994, working with different dive stores and resort operations in the region.
Jill Heinerth (USA)
A pioneering underwater explorer and filmmaker, Jill’s photography and writing have been featured in prominent publications around the world. In recognition of her lifetime achievement, Jill was awarded the inaugural Medal for Exploration by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Recognizing a lifetime devoted to water advocacy, Jill was also awarded the Wyland Icon and Sea Hero of the Year awards.
Mark Messersmith (USA)
Mark is the Chief Operations Officer for Halcyon Manufacturing and an Instructor Examiner for Global Underwater Explorers. As an avid Cave Diver and Explorer, he often finishes his day at Halcyon with an evening dive testing new equipment or seeking virgin tunnels in North Florida cave systems.
Paul Toomer (UK)
Paul started diving in 1996 under the instruction of PADI Course Director Steve Axtell. Having such an extraordinary trainer and a passion for the underwater world it was not long till he decided that this was the career he had been looking for.
Shafraz Naeem (Maldives)
Shafraz Naeem, known to everyone as “Shaff”, is an ex-military dive instructor, an award-winning underwater photographer and an SSI Instructor-Trainer who started his diving career in 1994. He has extensive knowledge of diving all over the Maldives.
Simon Pridmore (UK)
Simon has been at the sharp end of the scuba diving industry for the last two decades and has been a speaker at all the TekDive conferences we have held with the ADEX shows over the years. In the 1990s, he pioneered mixed-gas deep diving in Asia and ran IANTD operations in Micronesia through his dive centre on Guam, Professional Sports Divers.
Tomasz Stachura (Poland)
One of the most active wreck diver in the Baltic Sea, Tomasz Stachura specializes in deep underwater photography and is connected with wreck diving for more than 30 years. He is the founder, owner and CEO of SANTI Diving – a worldwide diving company producing equipment for divers
