In a surprise announcement, premium manufacturer of underwater imaging equipment SEACAM has unveiled a major corporate transition and succession plan. Entrepreneur and long-time SEACAM partner Markus Inglin will take over as the new Owner and Managing Director of the high-end underwater brand, with the company headquarters relocating from its long-standing base in Voitsberg, Austria to Ibach, Switzerland—just down the road from Inglin’s existing photography and business hub, INGMA Pictures, located in neighboring Steinen.

From January 1st, 2027, the company will officially operate as SEACAM AG. “AG” stands for Aktiengesellschaft, which is the Swiss equivalent of a joint-stock corporation in the US. Incorporating as an AG facilitates a structured and clean transfer of ownership, and while the structure does allow a company to be publicly traded on a stock exchange, many Swiss AGs remain privately held by a small group of shareholders or a single owner. This is likely the case for SEACAM as well.

SEACAM customers and partners—which include many of the most well-known names in underwater photography, such as David Doubilet, Laurent Ballesta, Tobias Friedrich, Amos Nachoum, Michael Aw, and Renee Capozzola—can expect a swift and seamless transition. SEACAM’s press release (below) states that operations will be closed for just a few weeks in November to accommodate the physical move from Austria to Switzerland, and the new Swiss facility will be fully operational from the very beginning of the new year. Inquiries and orders will be processed in Switzerland from December 1st.
