The recognition marks Maldives Legend’s fourth consecutive South Asian Travel Awards win and further strengthens its position within the Maldives liveaboard and dive tourism sector.
MALE, MALDIVES – 15 October 2026 – Maldives Legend X has been named Leading Liveaboard – Maldives at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, securing the prestigious title for the second consecutive year and marking Maldives Legend’s fourth consecutive recognition at SATA.
The award was presented on 8 October 2026 during the 10th edition of the South Asian Travel Awards, held at Barceló Nasandhura Malé. SATA recognises excellence across the South Asian travel, tourism and hospitality industry, representing the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Representing Maldives Legend at the ceremony were Captain Mohamed Inaaz, Cruise Director Ismail Shareef, Head of Operations Amjad Athas and Senior Sales & Marketing Executive Sandy Sashi, alongside Shaushaan Shafeeq, Managing Director of MHC Group. Their presence represented the different teams behind the Maldives Legend experience, from vessel operations and diving to guest service and sales.
Recognition Built on the Complete Liveaboard Experience
The award reflects Maldives Legend X’s continued focus on delivering a complete liveaboard experience that goes beyond diving alone.
At 40 metres in length, Maldives Legend X accommodates up to 26 guests across 13 cabins. The vessel was redesigned and refurbished in 2024, combining contemporary interiors with facilities designed for extended liveaboard journeys. Accommodation includes VIP and Seaview Suites with panoramic windows, Junior Suites, and Double and Triple cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms.
Across four decks, guests have access to a sun deck with jacuzzi, saloon, onboard restaurant and bar, alongside facilities supporting dive operations throughout the Maldives.
Maldives Legend X operates across Maldives Legend’s key dive itineraries, including the Best of Maldives through the Central Atolls, Hanifaru and North Ari, the Deep South, and the Great North, offering access to some of the country’s most recognised dive regions and marine encounters.
Responsible Exploration of the Maldives
Environmental responsibility remains an integral part of Maldives Legend’s operations.
Across its departures, the company promotes reef-conscious diving practices, including the use of moorings instead of anchors wherever possible, no-touch diving protocols and reef clean-up initiatives. The team also contributes to manta and shark identification efforts and follows responsible wildlife encounter practices.
Maldives Legend works alongside conservation partners including ADEX Ocean Vision, Mermaid Federation International and Ocean Geographic, supporting broader efforts to protect the marine environments that form the foundation of the Maldives’ dive tourism industry.
A Strong Year for Maldives Legend
The SATA recognition follows two further industry honours received earlier in 2026 at the inaugural ADEX Blue Legacy Awards in Singapore, where Maldives Legend was named Liveaboard of the Year and Dive Travel Company / Agent of the Year.
The achievement also coincides with the expansion of the Maldives Legend fleet. Maldives Legend Y, the company’s new ultra-luxury vessel, begins operations this October, joining Maldives Legend X, Legend Zen, Legend Odyssey and Sea Pleasure under MHC Group – Maldives Holiday Collections.
