ADEX Big Blue Legacy, the 33rd edition of Singapore Ocean Week, is taking place from April 9 to 11, 2027, with three action-packed days of talks, panels, and events once again concluding with live judging of the show’s signature competition, ADEX Voice of the Ocean. During the two-hour judging event, another prestigious jury will be choosing the competition’s top photographers, filmmakers and artists as well as crowning the ADEX Photographer of the Year 2027. Valuable prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up in seven exciting categories.
The 2027 edition of ADEX Voice of the Ocean Photo+Video+Art Competition adds two fresh categories while retaining five categories from last year’s contest—Animal Behavior, Environmental (previously called Conservation), Underwater Arts, Short Film, and Portfolio. The first new category is Smartphone/Compact Camera, which allows compact shooters to compete alongside smartphone users for the first time, while the second is Tek Asia, an opportunity to showcase the special subjects that only technical divers can capture—wrecks, caves, and marine life beyond recreational depths.
After revealing the winners at ADEX Big Blue Legacy in Singapore, the results will be published on www.adex.asia and www.underwatercompetition.com, and published by supporting media partners worldwide shortly thereafter. The entry fee is US$10 for a single image or video and US$30 for a portfolio (six images). As with all Underwater Competition Series events, 15% of entry proceeds will be donated to marine conservation efforts.
