New housing comes as standard with two fiber-optic ports and a built-in moisture detector
Isotta has announced its housing for the Sony a7 Mark V—the fifth iteration of the company’s entry-level full-framer. The Mark V features the new Bionz XR2 processor and Sony’s first partially-stacked backside-illuminated sensor. The a7 V can shoot bursts up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking using the mechanical shutter (30fps with the electronic shutter) and record 7K-oversampled 4K/60p video with no crop as well as 4K/120p with an APS-C crop.
Built around the B120 port system, Isotta’s housing for the Sony a7 V offers a full range of features: anodized aluminum build, integrated adjustable handles, double O-ring seals on buttons and removable parts, the company’s signature one-handed open/close, a built-in moisture detector, and an M24 port for attaching recorder/monitors. The housing comes with two fiber-optic ports, with the trigger being an optional extra. Like other modern Isotta housings, the new housing can also configured with one or two Nikonos N5 or S6 bulkheads if preferred.
The housing will be available shortly from retailers. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
